Increased Bearing Lifetime

The integration of the bearing into the threaded ring allows the bearing distance to be maximized. The increased distance further supports the axis, which results in less deflection of the axle and thus protects the bearings and increases their lifetime.

Faster Full Engagement and less wear

The previous system required two conical springs to ensure proper alignment of the two ratchets. The fixed connection of the inner ratchet of the RATCHET EXP with the hub shell allows to use only one cylindrical spring, to ensure proper alignment of the moving ratchet. This results in faster full engagement and eventually reduces wear

Incorporated Notch

Featuring an incorporated notch, the newly developed shape of the endcaps simplifies disassembly significantly and therefore makes the maintenance even easier.

Rim Specifications

Low air resistance is combined with maximum lateral stiffness.

The exceptional wave shape of the rim results from an innovative development process that analyzed the interactions with wheels under various wind conditions. The result is very high stability against crosswinds, especially at larger yaw angles. The profile height varies between 45 and 50 millimeters, depending on the respective wave section. This design creates an optimal balance between low air resistance and stable handling in lateral wind influences. Wind tunnel testing shows an increase in crosswind stability of 21 percent compared to classic profiles of the same height at yaw angles of 0° to 10°, and even up to 30 percent at angles of 10° to 20°. The rims are made from a special carbon laminate, allowing the weight to be reduced to just 350 grams. This weight is particularly impressive considering the rim height of 50 mm and an external width of 31 mm. The Tubeless Ready design allows for easy tubeless setup and ensures a perfect fit of the tire. The wheelset is built with premium DT Swiss Aerolite spokes and Prolock aluminum nipples, which not only contribute to an excellent weight but also give this set a distinctive look.
