Gravel racing is getting faster every year - thanks to improved materials and increasing professionalism. With average speeds of 35 km/h and above, aerodynamics are becoming ever more important. Typical gravel tires range from 38 to 50 mm in width. Conventional rims with a narrow external width often result in an aerodynamically inefficient "bulb shape." The Fun Works Turbo Carbon GX 3040 wheelset addresses this with a 36 mm external width and a 40 mm rim depth. This rim profile, combined with the right tire, creates an aerodynamically efficient wing shape with a nearly seamless transition between tire and rim - similar to modern road bike wheels.

The 30 mm internal width allows you to use tubeless tires at low pressure without the tire folding over in fast corners. This delivers more grip, less vibration, and therefore more speed on rough terrain - while also providing greater comfort and less fatigue on long rides. Despite these generous dimensions, the GX 3040 wheelset weighs only 1280 grams, making it perfectly suited even for hilly courses.

Fun Works Turbo Hubs - Robust and Reliable

The Turbo hubs feature an increased bearing spacing and improved stiffness for longer bearing life. The reinforced axle reduces flex and protects the bearings. The innovative CSPS (Coil Spring Pawl System) uses six robust 5 mm pawls to ensure maximum reliability. The coil springs provide optimal pressure on the reinforced ratchet ring, which can withstand high loads.With 108 engagement points and a minimal engagement angle of just 3.3 degrees, the freehub guarantees fast and responsive power transfer with low wear - perfect for quick acceleration and a lively ride feel. The newly designed end caps with integrated notches make hub disassembly and maintenance significantly easier.
