The new Shimano Deore XT hubs were fitted with the so-called Cup and Cone Technology. The Cup and Cone bearings (cone bearings) are more resilient than sealed cartridge compact storage. The cone bearings can support axial and radial forces evenly on and defeated by the extremely calm and promise a long life.
In addition, these bearings are easier to maintain, adjust and exchange.
