All-Mountain
MTB All Mountain wheelsets have to meet a range of uses that are rarely required in any other area. Being as light as possible, but being torsion resistant and durable at the same time is not a simple combination. The rims must be suitable for tires with high profiling, in order to get control in every situation and to be able to eat through any terrain. In contrast to a pure Cross Country / Marathon Mountainbike, the rim widths have grown, since tire widths of 2.25"or more have proven successful. For the perfect symbiosis of frame, suspension fork and wheels, longer and thicker axles, with diameters of 10 to 15mm, have almost completely displaced the classic quick releases. The added material ensures greater torsional rigidity and keeps the wheels in position, clean and smooth, even under heavy load. So that the wheelset is always suitable, our Fun Works hubs can be converted quickly, easily and almost without tools to almost every current axle standard.

What is All-Mountain?

Anyone traveling in the all-mountain range, moves in an area that is versatile like no other. The name is program: It goes through any terrain, through flowy single trails, technically demanding terrain, uphill or downhill, smaller heels by blocked Trails or Trans Alp. Even the classic touring bike with balanced uphill and downhill performance and climbing "mountain goats" fall into this area of application. Fork travel between 120- and 140mm, weight-optimized, mostly full-suspension frame and a balanced seating position define mountain biking in pure culture. Up the Hill - Down the Trail with more travel that ensures driving pleasure and safety at the same time. The all-round area "All Mountain" has its limits only when it's "extreme": in big and long jumps, demanding freeride or daring downhill races.

Rims for 27.5-inch plus tires and 29-inch plus tires

Nothing is more important than relying on the material. Therefore, the so-called plus tires in the All Mountain use is becoming increasingly popular. From a tire width of 2.6" is spoken by plus tires that exceed the limits of the former maximum of 2.4" in the MTB range. For the wider tires, of course, they are mandatory, i.e. wider rims are required. The advantage of "Plus": Due to the spreading of the profile, the mantle has a better roll-over behavior, rolling resistance in the terrain is significantly reduced and the grip thus increases. Here you can drive significantly low air pressure, at low risk of breakdown.

Depending on the model, our Fun Works rims have been specially designed for these coats. With inner widths of 30mm, 35mm or 40mm, we have the right rim for every Plus tire.
